Think, think, think

One week left till we fly to Vegas and then drive up to Cedar.  I only have two concerns with the travel,

Twiddle Dee, and Twiddle Dum.  In this picture I started filling up the tub with water, walked away for a couple of minutes and came back with bubbles over flowing.  They dumped my entire bottle of body wash in the tub.  They are a bunch of rugrats and I'm terrified of how they'll behave on the flight and the shuttle up to Cedar.  Can you imagine being strapped down for a total of 10 hours?  Help anyone, for suggestions of entertainment for these two.  So far we have our computer, mini DVD player, snacks and books.  I had one friend suggest to another, wrapping up toys like a christmas present.  I thought that was pretty smart.  More ideas would be great!

when we were little and would do long car drives my grandma would make us each up a shoe box that had lots of wrapped up presents inside that we could open up are certain mile markers along the way. some were food. some were toys and games. lots of variety. we loved it. i still remember. (i don't know how you get that through security though!)but maybe they don't have to be wrapped, maybe just knowing that at a certain time they could take out something of their choice... maybe.
kayla watched mickey mouse dvd's all the way down to st george and back. we were amazed.
then there's always sudafed! :)

handcuff them together, and duck tape their mouths closed! that is why my brother in law told me to do with our primary kids!

Wrapping up toys is a great idea! I may have to try that next time we travel. You might try some coloring books or pages if your kids will sit and do that. At least there will be two of you to try and keep up with the two of them! And don't stress over the mess they make on the flight. It's inevitable and you have to be entitled to a little disorganization! Good luck on the trip!

PS~ Kaiya is 17 months, today!

hey, when we left the island somebody game mya a tiny container of gazz-it or floam like stuff. you mold it and shape it. it's like playdough but not messy. We let mya open it on the flight and she played with it for a long while. they look like dippin-dots the ice cream. i bet you can find them at the dollar store. ours cost $1 for a small container of pink modeling fun.

Cheeto! Our doctor suggested giving them all the junk food they wanted and than letting them just crash. Surprisingly our kids are often at there best on airplanes. We spend a lot of time running around the airport and looking at all the cool planes before we get on, than they each have special blankets and pillows and we give the there fav snacks and start the movie. It's worked pretty well for us and we have had about 10 flights with the kids now. Make sure you have NEW movies that they have never seen, that will help keep them into it. We are so excited to have you on the mainland!!

Just drug them like on rat race. I'm sure Kurt would have no problem with that.

I feel your anxiety..you have some good suggestions, I like the band aid idea, my kids would love that! Activity books work well for my kids. But no matter how many activities or plans you have, you never know how kids are going to be on a flight. Just be prepared to accept a little fussiness and crying just in case. You will never see those people again, kids squirm and make noises, you've tried your best and don't stress about it, it will all be over soon!
