Kid Stuff

We LOVE the warm weather.  It makes us all happier and we've been taking full advantage of the nice warm weather we've been having.  Some days we'll stay outside all day long.  We'll take our food out and just sit on the porch and eat.  I can't wait till I get so hot I want to be in an air conditioned room!  So here are some pictures of the kids playing with Leonidas outside.

Today at church when Kurt got Drew from her classroom her teacher told him that they all went to the bathroom together and somewhere along the way Drew went missing.  They searched for her for ten minutes till they finally found her.  When Kurt asked her where she was she told him, "The magic room."  Then he asked her why it was called the magic room, still not knowing where she had gone.  "Because of the curtains!"  Ahh... the stage!  Hahaha!!  Kurt and I are the Boys Valiant 12 teachers and we get to see how Drew acts first hand in Primary.  It would be an understatement to say Drew is a trouble maker.  She is that sunbeam that runs up to the mic to yell in it.  She makes us laugh every day!
He really is such a good puppy!  Kurt says its the lab in him.  At night he'll stay on our door step and not go anywhere.  He does not run away at all even when we walk to the park and there's a gazillion dogs barking at him, calling him out from behind their fenced yards.  Yes, you have to keep toys, and slippers away or else they will be chewed to bits but other than that he is the sweetest puppy.  We watched Marley and Me the other night and I swear that dog would be out of there before he knew it!
An update on this girl: She had failed her hearing test in the hospital in her left ear three times so we took her to an Audiologist.  Turns out she had little hearing in that ear and it has to be at a really loud level.  The Doctor doesn't know exactly what's wrong, either an enlarged ear drum or undeveloped nerves, etc, but he'll have a better idea when she's a couple of months older and tests are more reliable.  Right now she has great hearing in her right ear so he doesn't feel the need to run out and get a hearing aid or anything like that.  So we'll see in a couple of months.  I also had been supplementing a bottle with her.  I went in for my six week check up on Thursday and my Midwife said to give the bottle the axe if I still wanted to keep nursing.  We realized that she had been fussy because the formula wasn't doing well with her stomach and the only comfort she had was to nurse and in turn I would give her a bottle because I couldn't keep up and then it became a vicious cycle.  Now she hasn't had a BM in a couple of days and you can tell her little tummy hurts but even then she's still a good little baby girl!
And Brody pooped in the toilet for the first time on Friday!  As we were eating breakfast Brody said, "Poop!"   So Kurt, and Drew ran him to the bathroom where they sat and waited and waited till finally Kurt said, "Lets give him his privacy."  Not a minute later we heard, "LOOK!"   They ran back and he had pooped.  So far the count is 1 poop and 2 pees.  We definitely are not rushing things but just trying to move things in the right direction with Brody's potty training.  And I think it's working!

I love all your updates. I wish we could get a dog too but it's just not the right time. Maybe after law school, when we'll have a house with a yard. A condo will not do. We did get two goldfish for the kids. Liko loves looking at them. Congrats to Brodie! We still haven't tried to potty train Kalei but he seems to like to pee standing up everytime I take his diaper off before he takes a bath. Funny kid. Anyways, say hi to the kids for us and Kurt too.

so cute! good luck with the ear thing. you should probably check to see if there's some program with the department of health that can help you out with the ear, just in case you need it. It's really helped us out with Aaron's ear and all the stuff he needs!

she is sooo dang cute! they made brady take a bottle in the hospital and he hated formula, now he wont have anything to do with it and totally had tummy issues! if you can pump a lactation lady said to pump in between feedings to get the milk production to catch up with the baby or if you have an hour free to pump 10 min take a break for 5 and so on for an hour. yay for brody! I'm so proud of him!

Sounds like things are going good. Lorelai failed her hearing tests too. But she eventually got better. I bet Alia will be the same. Brody is gonna be potty trained before Tristan! How do you do it? Cause Tristan refuses! Tips please!!

Thank for that, Noelle. I read "poop" right as I was sticking a bite of lunch in my mouth. =)Keep us posted on Alia's ear. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

How lucky to have a puppy! Fiona and James will be so jealous! Our kids always talk about what kind of pet they want when Jared finishes school. Since they can't have any pat here, their list are getting longer . . . And, I laughed the part Kurt and 'DREW' took Brody to the bathroom. Drew definably is a little mommy. Good job Brody!
