Happy Birthday Brody Boy!

Brody had an awesome party with friends, balloons, streamers, cake, presents, and airplanes.  More on another post soon but for right now I want to spend quality time with my kids before I leave for Vegas for 6 days.  I love my boy to death and I can't believe he's 3!

Happy Birthday Brody!

"Let the wild rumpus start!"

Lately I've been staying up till Kurt gets home, not because I'm a good wife and waiting up for him, but because I have a million things I want to do and I want to do them all! One project I have finished is sewing Brody's costume. He's going to be Max from Where The Wild Things Are. I have to give myself the biggest pat on the back because his costume has turned out how I had pictured it in my head. Since sewing Brody's costume I've been on a sewing frenzy and have been altering any of our clothes that need it. Drew had a pair of leggings that were a couple sizes too big and I cut and sewed them to make it how it's supposed to fit.

More of my projects when I get done with them!

Best Pals

Does this say something about a boy and his dog or about our parenting?

Brody's Day

Brody's birthday festivities all started when he got this cute frog card from his Grandma Stephanie.  He was SO excited!
Then Sunday Grandma Karla made him his birthday dinner with cupcakes and ice cream.
He got clothes from his Aunt, Uncle, and cousins, a key board...
and a guitar from his Grandma Karla.  He also got a cute pair of paints but when we tried to show it to him he shoved it away to look at...
his musical birthday card that plays the chicken dance.  He LOVES those cards!
Monday March 2nd, his actual birthday, we started the day off with blue pancakes.

Then we headed down to St. George to play at Jumpin Jacks where they have all kinds of bounce houses and kids and adults can play on.
Kurt played harder than any child there.  We also went during school hours so Drew was the oldest kid, if you exclude Kurt, and we didn't have wait in line at all!
Brody was in awe looking at...
this!  He LOVED it!
This is Drew going crazy!  She was running around hitting all these characters, clothes lining and tackling them.  I found it hilarious!
These three had SO much fun which made me completely happy.  I can't wait to be able to join them next time.
After two hours of constant playing we ate at In-n-Out Burger.

We headed back to Cedar where the kids and a long nap and Kurt and I were able to get things done around the house.  Brody's birthday cake being one of them.  So this was my first time trying fondant and beside my lack of creativeness the actual marshmallow fondant itself turned out really good and yummy!  The car was supposed to be red, and it turned out salmon.  And I had made the mistake of dying the whole roll of fondant that color so all the other colors had to be a descendent from that.  I also had no idea how to carve the cake so that's why it looks like it's gotten in a couple of fender benders.  It's a good thing I have a couple of months till Drew's birthday to practice.
The good thing is that Brody loved it!  Imperfections and all.
After cake and ice cream Brody opened his present from us.  We got him this little basketball hoop.  He loves it!
I have to say that this year I was kinda depressed when I thought of Brody's birthday party.  Since we've only been here for six months we haven't made a lot of friends his age and if we were to even have one for him with just the family, we don't have a house big enough to hold everyone.  The weather right now is too iffy to have one outside so I was just kinda sad that I wouldn't be able to throw him the party that I wanted.  Thank goodness we heard of the Jumpin Jacks place.  I embedded in my head that this day was for Brody and even if it was just us we were going to have fun.  So we invited friends and family to come with us, knowing that it was on a Monday and that people were not likely to come, and if they could make it great if not we were still going and having fun.  And we did!  The whole day was fun and seeing Brody smile every minute made me melt.  I love you Brody Boy and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Brodini

We're leaving tonight on the red eye and I'm not sure when I'll be able to post again.  So I'll leave you all with a couple of pictures of our Italian Brody.  We love all of our friends we're leaving in Hawaii and we hope to see you guys again soon!

Actually he looks like Grandpa Joe in this one.

Think, think, think

One week left till we fly to Vegas and then drive up to Cedar.  I only have two concerns with the travel,

Twiddle Dee, and Twiddle Dum.  In this picture I started filling up the tub with water, walked away for a couple of minutes and came back with bubbles over flowing.  They dumped my entire bottle of body wash in the tub.  They are a bunch of rugrats and I'm terrified of how they'll behave on the flight and the shuttle up to Cedar.  Can you imagine being strapped down for a total of 10 hours?  Help anyone, for suggestions of entertainment for these two.  So far we have our computer, mini DVD player, snacks and books.  I had one friend suggest to another, wrapping up toys like a christmas present.  I thought that was pretty smart.  More ideas would be great!
